Important Take Aways From The Event
- This is the second Advanced Citizen Science Campaign performed during the Mediterranea route 2023 and led by Dr. Martina Gaglioti.
- The crew has been engaged in theoretical and practical sessions focused on the main challenges of the UN Decade of Ocean Sciences, Marine Protected Areas and field observations focused on Mediterranean Sea biodiversity and alien species.
- The Ionian Archipelago is a hotspot for the Mediterranean Sea and is recognized as an Important Marine Mammals Area (IMMA).
- The Med Sea is a place of culture sharing, people meets and the Mediterranean flag is the icon of our shared tough which is also in line with the rationale behind the UN Ocean Decade we are engaged in.
